Skunk Damage
Skunks can cause incredible damage with their digging. Along with other animals skunks are known for digging through garbage causing a nasty mess that no one likes to clean up and possible damage to your trash cans. Aside from scattering your nasty garbage and leftovers on the curb or driveway skunks can cause much more damage to your property. When skunks want grub then grub is what they dig for! Skunks can cause a lot of damage to your lawn by digging many many holes about 3 to 4 inches wide in search for the insect called “grub”. Not only do the skunks dig for grub but they also may dig for shelter. Burrowing underneath porches, decks, sheds, garages, your home and many other building structures! They burrow underneath these to either hide away from predators or to create a nice little den to house their upcoming litter. You may run into more than one skunk burrowing underneath these structures when a new litter is born the young will stay with momma skunk for up to a year after birth!

Get Rid of Skunks

If you use a trap to get rid of skunks that will instantly kill the animal, that skunk may release its smelly oils upon death. To successfully get rid of skunks without the stench and without harming the animal, a live cage trap will just about be your best bet. Baiting the trap with the essential lures and baits you will have caught yourself a skunk in no time. The key to getting rid of skunks is to not agitate the skunk, causing it to spray its smelly oils. Getting rid of skunks should be a slow, careful, and smooth process. Take slow quiet steps toward the trap getting close enough to lay some sort of cover over the trap to provide safety from your self and the skunks spray. After the cage trap is covered you can then get rid of the skunk by transporting it out of its territory into unfamiliar territory to release it and be sure the skunk does not know its path back.
