Baby Skunks

Skunks usually will mate earlier in the spring time. The male skunks will have multiple mating partners. Momma skunk usually will find or create a den to give birth to the new batch of kits. Giving birth to the kits around the calendar month of May, the litter size could range from four to seven baby skunks. Baby skunks are born blind and deaf. It takes the baby skunks up to three weeks after birth to open their eyes. Baby skunks are born with their colors of black fur and the white stripe lining their body from the nose to the end of the tail. Skunks may hang around their mother up to a full year after birth, which is usually the time the skunks are ready to mate.
